Wedding in Tuscany | Castello di Santa Maria Novella | Bryllup i Toscana

As a wedding photographer in Tuscany it was such a joy working on this lovely wedding. Caroline and Anders celebrated their wedding in Tuscany in the Castello di Santa Maria Novella, a stunning mediaval castle on top of a Tuscan hill with a 360° view over the hills which can be seen from the two towers at either end of the castle. There is something about Nordic people that is fundamentally different from mediterranean folk. They always seem calm, polite and have a more minimalist taste when it comes to design. But the main word that comes to mind when thinking about a Nordic wedding is elegance, such nicely understated elegance. This wedding dress must be one of my all time favourites!! It was hand sewn by the seamstress of the royal opera of Copenhagen non the less, and hundreds of delicate small flowers were hand stitched onto the gown and top. Not very often do we see a long sleeved dress in Tuscany which is a real pity, I mean you just need to look at the photos to understand how beautiful it can look. The men were all dressed ‘black tie’ and the women matched with elegant floor length dresses.

Carolina asked for her wedding ceremony decoration to be mostly white and natural and a bit of colour for the dinner tables. So Sonja the florist from our sister company FunkyBird Wedding Design decided for a small wildflower bouquet of chamomile, lysianthus and saponaria flowers and babies breath flower crowns for the girls. On the altar it was all white clouds of babies breath and white phalaenopsis orchids to add a touch of luxury, dozens of candles gave a magical finish to it all. The tables had a touch or colour to them although we stayed in a neutral nude rose palette and natural shaped arrangements.
