Spring in Tuscany is romantic, floral, and a little unpredictable — in the best way.

March starts cool, but by mid April and May, gardens bloom and golden light returns.

• Avg. temperatures: 28–38°C (82–100°F)

• Golden fields and olive groves

• Crowds: Very busy. Tourist season is at its peak.

• Pricing: Highest of the year. Venues and vendors book up early, and rates reflect demand.

• Sunset time:

• June: ~20:45–21:00 (8:45–9:00 PM)

• July: ~20:30–20:45 (8:30–8:45 PM)

• August: ~20:00–20:30 (8:00–8:30 PM)

Photographer Insight:

Plan for a later ceremony (17:00–17:30 / 5–5:30 PM) to avoid the midday sun and harsh light. Dinners under fairy lights or olive trees at night are magic. If possible, avoid the last 7 days of July and the first two weeks of August — it’s the hottest time of year in Tuscany. Also, try to skip planning around August 15th (Ferragosto), when much of Italy shuts down for holiday and many vendors are unavailable.

Autumn Weddings in Tuscany (September – October)

Autumn is a secret favorite among locals. The crowds thin, the light is warm and golden, and the vineyards turn slowly to rust-orange and deep green.

Winter in Tuscany is off-season for destination weddings — and while it may not suit large celebrations, it can be magical for elopements, editorial shoots, or intimate ceremonies.

Most traditional venues and outdoor spaces close from late November through February, especially countryside villas and castles. However, select boutique hotels, historic palazzos, or Florence-based venues may remain open for smaller-scale events.
