Dark and Moody Inspiration Shoot in Italian Garden

Last year we were thinking about doing a new photoshoot, but we didn’t wanted it to be like the other shoots we had already done. This time, we wanted it to be a bit darker, moody and blend it with deeper colours, like dark red. We all thought it was a great idea, so we started to make a plan. We began by finding a location were we could really bring this photoshoot to life. It ended up by us choosing Villa Agape, a beautiful villa in Florence with a gorgeous Italian garden. From that moment, we started to look for the right flowers, decoration, dress, model and food. The flowers consisted out of this beautiful mix up of tulips, peonies, anemone, sea holly, fritillaria and many more. The bouquet was filled with the most gorgeous dark colours and stood out against the white dress our model was wearing. For the table, we picked a long floral garland that would drop all the way down to the floor. This garland was filled with Sea holly, red roses, red and white peonies and fritillaria. We wanted the decoration to compliment the flowers and not take all the spotlight. The small grey candles added a softer touch to the dark colours on the table and the black candles in bronze holders were beautiful next to the flowers and gave a more rustic look to the photos. We added some blue plates and the end results were stunning. We also had a gorgeous layered cake in different shades of pink. Once we placed it on the table, filled with all the dark colours, it looked amazing. The cake looked like a rose, due to all the layers and had golden edges, which made it even more beautiful. Our model was wearing an A-line dress from Pronovias, with beadings on her waist and long sleeves. Her make-up was light and not to heavy and most beautiful half flower crown was placed in her hair. The food needed to have the same dark effect and that ended up looking perfect. The photoshoot took place in the garden and lemon house. We were in luck, due to the lemon house having this old, mysterious look. This really brought something extra in to the pictures and we are really happy how they turned out. All by all, it was an amazing day and the people who were involved were all so creative and it was a pleasure to work with them. We are happy and pleased to show you the end result.

Beautiful Wedding in Tuscany | La Pievanella

I really enjoyed working on this lovely wedding in Tuscany in beautiful location called La Pievanella. Such a great couple Michelle and Lasse from Denmark crazy in love as you can see on the photographs. Beautiful sunny day, ceremony under stunning old tree with the view on Tuscan hills. Because everything was organised in this Tuscan villa I had little bit more time to spend on the shoot with the couple which was really nice. As a wedding photographer for me it is always fun to work on Danish weddings because they have a lot of small traditional moments which they have during the days so it is really nice to photograph them.

Wedding in Tuscany | Castello di Santa Maria Novella | Bryllup i Toscana

As a wedding photographer in Tuscany it was such a joy working on this lovely wedding. Caroline and Anders celebrated their wedding in Tuscany in the Castello di Santa Maria Novella, a stunning mediaval castle on top of a Tuscan hill with a 360° view over the hills which can be seen from the two towers at either end of the castle. There is something about Nordic people that is fundamentally different from mediterranean folk. They always seem calm, polite and have a more minimalist taste when it comes to design. But the main word that comes to mind when thinking about a Nordic wedding is elegance, such nicely understated elegance. This wedding dress must be one of my all time favourites!! It was hand sewn by the seamstress of the royal opera of Copenhagen non the less, and hundreds of delicate small flowers were hand stitched onto the gown and top. Not very often do we see a long sleeved dress in Tuscany which is a real pity, I mean you just need to look at the photos to understand how beautiful it can look. The men were all dressed ‘black tie’ and the women matched with elegant floor length dresses.

Carolina asked for her wedding ceremony decoration to be mostly white and natural and a bit of colour for the dinner tables. So Sonja the florist from our sister company FunkyBird Wedding Design decided for a small wildflower bouquet of chamomile, lysianthus and saponaria flowers and babies breath flower crowns for the girls. On the altar it was all white clouds of babies breath and white phalaenopsis orchids to add a touch of luxury, dozens of candles gave a magical finish to it all. The tables had a touch or colour to them although we stayed in a neutral nude rose palette and natural shaped arrangements.

Elopement in Tuscany - Castello di Spaltenna

I really enjoyed working on this lovely elopement in Tuscany in a beautiful wedding location Castello di Spaltenna in chianti region of Tuscany. Such a great couple Colby & Michael came from USA for their special day. As a wedding photographer in Tuscany I really enjoy working on elopements because the couple and I have lot of time for a photography. Sometimes on a bigger weddings because of the tight schedule I don’t have too much alone time with the couple but in a case like this I am alone with the couple for a few hours and its just fun! Also what is great is that they picked this beautiful wedding location in Tuscany Castello di Spaltenna which is built around 1030 which means it is almost 1000 years old which is incredible! My advise to everybody who are thinking or planning to do elopement in Tuscany or anywhere else is to pick really nice location with a lot of character because it adds some extra beauty to the photographs.
